Le Race is Christchurch's premier hill cycling event that covers the 100km from Christchurch to Akaroa. Taking place on Saturday 24th March and drawing an expected field of over 900 cyclists, Le Race is Christchurch's most iconic race. The Air Rescue Trust is pleased to announce we are the official Charity for Le Race in 2018.
Taking part in this epic challenge and fundraising for the Service is Air Rescue's very own Rupert, Pilot for the NZ Flying Doctor Service, Francine and Graeme, Flight Nurses for the NZ Flying Doctor Service and Matt, Pilot for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.
“All my training now needs to fit around shift work and my kids, so I just ride whenever I can! I love riding with my 4.5 year old, he loves getting out on his mountain bike!” says Rupert, who averages 300km a week in training.
You can support them and help support the Service by donating at the Race for Rescue Give-a-Little page: givealittle.co.nz/cause/2018-le-race-ride-for-rescue
